Yay! You can update your listing to being “sold” so buyers do not contact you again. Alternatively you can delete your listing completely. You may do so by first logging in and visiting “My dashboard” link found on the top right hand corner of the page.
Ignore the emails and do not engage in conversation with them.
Please inform us of the scam by forwarding us with the email sent from the scammer.
SHWD advices that all sellers should join us on our Facebook page. We’ll post any scams that are reported here.

Most online scams are easily spotted. If a man is enquiring about your wedding dress, it’s most likely to be a scam. If he/she is an oceanographer from abroad wanting to buy the wedding dress for their daughter, it is a scam. If the IP address is from overseas, it is most likely to be a scam.
SHWD strongly suggests that you only deal with local buyers that you can meet up in person.

Interested buyer will contact you through the contact form provided from your listing. You’ll receive an email from us, with the buyer’s personal email address and IP address.
To be sure that it is a legitimate buyer, please make sure that the IP address is not from overseas. You may lookup the IP address by visiting this link. Please note that there are scams that come from Australia as well. SHWD strongly suggest to only deal with local buyers that you can meet in person.
Contact the buyer directly to their personal email address, and organise a meetup and discuss the payment method you prefer.
Congratulations! If you have received an email enquiry saying that a buyer is interested in your wedding dress, all you need to do now is to contact the seller back by replying to the buyer’s email address directly.
You should make sure that the buyer is genuine, and SHWD strongly suggest that you ONLY DEAL WITH A LOCAL BUYER. This avoids any type of online scams out there, and you can arrange to meetup with the buyer personally. This is benefitial to both parties – the buyer can view and try out the dress, and you can be rest assured that it is a legitimate transaction.
Please also be cautious when organising a meetup with the buyer. You should have someone to accompany you just as a precaution.
